Corner Coffeehouse Offers Tempting Brew

A chance visit to an El Paso‚ Texas‚ coffeehouse gave Robert Warner a better option to retirement.
Warner worked 18 years in food service at the regional office of State Farm‚ though he knew retirement wasn’t for him. So after falling in love with the West Texas coffeehouse‚ he opted to bring that flavor back to West Monroe.
In 2005‚ he opened Corner Coffee house‚ delivering worldly coffees to Northeast Louisiana. His menu includes the typical array of coffeehouse favorites‚ including cappuccinos‚ lattes and frozen mochaccinos. He also features soups‚ sandwiches and desserts‚ including “one of the best chicken salad recipes in town.”
And the air is just as important as the fare. Warner prides himself on providing a suitable place for families to relax.
“I would not allow my kids to work here if I didn’t like the atmosphere we put forth‚” says Warner‚ whose nine employees include his two children.
Corner Coffeehouse‚ located at 207 Blanchard St.‚ is open from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
